Familiar story…. you take home a pot of basil from the supermarket and give it pride of place on the kitchen windowsill. You water it diligently, maybe even play it classical music, yet, within a month it is dead.
Why oh Why?
What most people don’t realise is that there are WAY too many basil plants in the pots at the supermarket for your plants to grow to maturity. The trick is to tip the pot out, take three or so plants and put them in bigger pots where they can happily fill your windowsill with a constant stream of aromatic leaves!
You can of course simply eat the leaves from the rest of the plants that you don’t repot.
