In order to give your babies the best chance to thrive we throught we’d mention our top three transplant tips:
- Cold sensitive plants will be happiest if you get them used to the outdoor conditions a little bit at a time before you set them out permanently. Put your seedlings our for an couple of hours or so in the beginning and gradually lengthen this day by day for a few days until you are also leaving them out for part of the evening. You can then transplant them permanently outdoors with less risk of shock.
- Always water your seedlings well immediately after transplant and be sure to use a sprinkler not a solid stream of water
- Never transplant seedlings in the full sun, shade for at least 12 hours after transplant. This may mean that you need to transplant in the evening if it is a sunny day.
May your harvest be bountiful!
